REDUCE LABOR COST. INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY.

  • Improve any workflow.
  • The runway truss over the lumber bays and magazines may vary from 20' to 100' long, and it may accommodate 16' or 20' boards.
  • If you use a large variety of board dimensions, a longer system meets that need.
  • If you need a compact system on a cramped truss plant floor, a shorter system meets that need.
  • The picking heads may utilize either vacuum suction or screws to retrieve boards.
  • The flexibility of the Ranger RS™ system allows you to build a system that integrates seamlessly into your workflow.

Ranger RS system

Increasing productivity is as easy as installing a Ranger RS™ system, a system configured to the needs of your specific truss plant.

The Ranger RS™ system automates feeding boards to the saw, drastically reducing labor costs and ensuring that the saw always has a fresh board ready to feed.

You need every part of your workflow working in harmony to produce the highest-quality trusses with maximum efficiency. A highly efficient saw like the MatchPoint BLADE™ Wood Processing System demands a system that keeps pace with its speed. The Ranger RSdoes exactly that, without making costly picking errors and slowing the production of trusses.

The Ranger RS™ system improves any workflow.

The Ranger RS™ lumber retrieval system sits adjacent to the infeed rail on the MatchPoint BLADE™ Wood Processing System. The heart of the Ranger RS™ system consists of a trolley with a picking head.

  • The trolley moves over the infeed deck, lumber bays, and lumber magazines on a runway truss. Each lumber bay or magazine holds lumber of different dimensions.
  • The trolley runs the length of the runway truss, using a precise laser to scan the boards in the lumber bays and magazines. When the trolley positions the picking head over the correct boards, the picking head swiftly descends and retrieves the board before transporting and placing it on the infeed deck. The Ranger RS™ lumber retrieval system supplies the saw at a constant, reliable rate.

Although the capabilities of the Ranger RS™ lumber retrieval system are impressive on their own, integrating it into a workflow with a MatchPoint BLADE™ Wood Processing System allows you to realize its full potential.

  • Using Board Stretcher software to determine the order in which boards are used, the BLADE saw directs the Ranger RS™ system to retrieve the correct piece of lumber from a lumber bay or magazine.
  • The lumber bays and magazines are efficiently organized so that the Ranger RS™ trolley travels only a short distance to retrieve boards of different dimensions-choosing, for example, an eight-foot 2x4 with one trip and a sixteen-foot 2x4 on the next.
  • If you want to build for maximum efficiency, the combination of the BLADE saw and the Ranger RS™ system ensures that the least possible amount of waste is produced while boards are picked with high accuracy.
  • If you want to build truss by truss, the BLADE saw and Ranger RS™ system offer the flexibility of keeping many types of boards close at hand, ready in whichever order they are needed. With the Ranger RS™ system, you keep your workflow lean and benefit from the steady pace of production.
